Good Morning,
We write to draw your attention to a new initiative announced by NSF and Social Science Research Council (SSRC) in the recent Dear Colleague Letter: National Science Foundation and the Social Science Research Council Partnership to Advance Scientific Knowledge about the Impact of Public Health Guidance. NSF and SSRC will identify and jointly support research that advances knowledge about the impact of public health guidance. SSRC will donate up to $7.5M to NSF over the next two years to support this effort and NSF will invest $12.5M, for a combined total of up to $20M in research funding.
This funding will be granted through a number of existing programs in the NSF’s Directorate of Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE). Investigators who are interested in being considered for joint NSF-SSRC funding should follow the proposal preparation guidelines contained in the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) and submit proposals to the participating programs listed in the Dear Colleague Letter (DCL). To designate the proposal as being related to this research topic and submitted in response to this DCL, proposals must include "NSF-SSRC:" at the beginning of the proposal title. Other prefix information (e.g., "Collaborative Research:") may precede "NSF-SSRC:". Proposal submissions to NSF in response to this DCL should adhere to the deadline(s) and submission requirements for the primary program for which they are applying.
