We are excited to share this opportunity for early-career faculty from CIFAR, a Canadian-based global research organization. CIFAR’s programs are interdisciplinary, and the areas of research in each program are diverse. CIFAR’s programs aim to stimulate new interdisciplinary collaborations among researchers in pursuit of new knowledge advances. CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars Program
OSP Deadline: October 23, 2023. Departments or areas may require additional time for proposal review and submission. Please discuss a timeline with your grants administrator.
Sponsor Deadline: October 30, 2023.
Award Amount: $100,000 CAD in unrestricted research support over a two-year term.
Eligibility: Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent) and be within the first five years (no earlier than July 1, 2019) of starting a full-time position at an institution of higher education or research, with responsibilities for research and teaching. Postdoctoral fellows with a pending first full-time position that starts no later than July 1, 2024 are also eligible.
CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars are emerging leaders in their field. They have a high-impact record of innovative research and are motivated to advance their influence through interdisciplinary collaboration with some of the world’s most renowned researchers, expand their networks, receive mentorship and training in leadership and communication, and gain cross-sector exposure. The CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars program supports their development as influential leaders and agents of change in academia and beyond.
CIFAR invites exceptional early-career researchers from across the natural, biomedical, and social sciences and the humanities to join one of their interdisciplinary research programs.

Each CIFAR program accepts up to three new scholars. Over the past six years, an average of 6% of eligible applicants have been selected to become CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars.
